New Orleans Activities
A Visitors Guide from Collinwood House
Any time of the year is a good time to visit New Orleans and enjoy its multitude of music, dining, arts, and nightlife venues. The major festivals for which New Orleans is justifiably famous are scattered throughout the year: the official start of the Mardi
Gras season is January 6; Jazz & Heritage Festival and the French Quarter Festival occur in the Spring; Essence Musical Festival is 4th of July weekend; Southern Decadence takes place over Labor Day weekend; and Voodoo Festival is Halloween weekend.
And don’t forget the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day at the Superdome!
